Macrame Workshop with Melissa O'Boyle of Bow to the East
Saturday, October 21
Class Size: 3-10 people
Price: $70 ($50 workshop fee + $20 supply fee)
I believe the creative process is a way to awaken the spirit and offer therapy from our day to day lives. Macrame especially can provide an easy outlet and is meditative by nature. I want to give individuals access to the experience of not only creating something beautiful and unique, but also a skill they can expand upon.
Students will get introduced to the basic knots used in macrame. We will explore how these knots work together to create new and different designs. Students will make a small wall hanging. Basic materials will be provided.
Topics covered during this workshop:
- how to prepare for your project
- choosing materials
- intro to various knots
- incorporating embellishments
- embracing mistakes
- work on wall hanging
- provide resources for future projects
