Oregon Coast Retreat

Indigo Magic on the Oregon Coast

Are you craving time for yourself?  An opportunity to forge new friendships? A chance to learn the magic of indigo and to embrace slow fashion? Are you ready to return to yourself for a weekend of self-care and creativity on the Oregon coast? YES!?

Join us for a long weekend of indigo dyeing, Sashiko, bundle dyeing, dyeing with wax resist, and hapezome.

When? July 18-21, 2019!

We can’t wait to share this experience with 8 guests during this wonderful retreat. We are staying at the magical Starry Night Inn in Seaside Oregon. The Starry Night Inn is a small, independently-owned, boutique art hotel located in Seaside Oregon. The female-owned inn has been carefully designed with local art and special touches. There are shared social areas including an outdoor firepit, a lobby complete with musical instruments, a relaxing front porch with a propane heater and an infrared sauna located in the spa lounge.

Seaside is a quirky creative town on the Oregon Coast full of vintage charm. You will have plenty of time after our workshop sessions to explore the town, look for treasures in the antique shops, walk the historic prom, rent a paddle boat or a bike and explore the beach. This is the perfect spot for a creative summertime getaway!

You’ll be joining Shannon Mulkey Green and Christy Bardis Petterson on this adventure! For the past 15 years, Shannon and Christy have organized a craft and vintage market in Atlanta, GA, called the Indie Craft Experience. Their mission has been to provide opportunity to artists from the Southeast and beyond. They are both Teaching Artists at the High Museum of Art and also teach workshops regularly at their studio in Candler Park, a historic intown Atlanta neighborhood. They are both Atlanta natives and life-long artists, with a recent focus on natural dyeing.

Shannon and Christy love the Oregon Coast and can’t wait to share this adventure and their love of art and creativity with you!

We will be staying at the Starry Night Inn. You can choose between a shared room in the Victorian House or a shared cabin with a kitchenette. Two people stay in each room or cabin and will share a Queen bed. We will have a total of 4 guests staying in the Victorian house and 4 guests staying in cabins (8 guests total). You will be paired with a roommate, and room assignments will be determined on a first-come first-served basis. If you are signing up for the retreat with a friend and would like to room with them, please let us know their name on the registration form below.

The retreat costs $950 for guests staying in the Victoria house, and $1,025 for guests staying in the cabins. You can reserve your spot at the retreat by paying a non-refundable fee of $150, which goes towards your total. Once we receive your deposit we will set up a payment plan with you.
